Our natural beauty products are made from uncultivated, wild-harvested herbs and flowers that thrive in the world’s most remote and harsh climates. Under these conditions, only a select number of plant species have learned to adapt and survive. Their blooms contain deeply therapeutic and medicinal benefits.
Each one of the flowers and herbs used in Natura Siberica products has been picked by Indigenous farmers following a harvest calendar. This process of natural selection ensures only the most resilient, nourishing herbs and flowers go into our formulas.
A product base is the starting formula used before elements like plant extracts, oils and other ingredients are added to create the final product. Natura Siberica is the only company in the world to use Siberian pine oil to create the base of all our creams, conditioners and shampoos. Siberian pine oil is five times richer in vitamin E than olive oil, and 3 times richer in vitamin F than cod liver oil. Siberian pine oil helps to reinforce the skin's barrier and protect it against the harmful effects of wind, cold, and severe environments.
Natura Siberica is committed to protecting and upholding environmental sustainability. Our wild harvesting practices mean that the time of harvesting needs to align with the maximum accumulation of nutrients and active substances within the plants. This ensures we don't overharvest, and that these regions are given plenty of time for nature to replenish lost reserves. Our multitude of certificates speak to the practices we engage in, from the harvesting of raw materials through to the production of the final product. Natura Siberica is dedicated to ensuring that the natural plants and herbs we rely on will survive and thrive for years to come.
All of our products are made from 100% cruelty-free processes, from harvesting of our natural raw materials, all the way through to the production of our products. Natura Siberica is certified by several cosmetic certifying bodies, including the BDIH, who govern the use of animal products and by-products. BDIH ensures that any brands carrying their certification do not engage in any processes where animal harm or abuse can occur at any stage of production.
The BDIH is one of the world's oldest and most rigorous certifiers of natural cosmetic products. BDIH is specific in their guidelines regarding the use of animal products, to ensure that brands are held accountable for abuse that occurs at any stage of their manufacturing and distributing process. This is to eliminate the possibility of brands using 'third party' excuses for animal testing. To read more about the BDIH guidelines, visit our page HERE.
The Institute of Ethic Certification (ICEA) is a group of natural and organic cosmetic manufacturers in Italy. This group also includes the Italian Association of Organic Agriculture. Together, they are Italy's largest certifier of organic cosmetics, biocosmetics and ecocosmetics. ICEA guidelines put restrictions on a number of factors, including prohibiting the use of genetic engineering, chemical or synthetic preservatives, and strict regulations on waste and sanitation. To retain ICEA certification, brands must comply to multiple yearly audits, ensuring they're continuously upholding ICEA's regulations. Check out our page HERE to read more about what is needed to meet ICEA's requirements.
COSMOS is one of the world's newest cosmetic certifiers. With BDIH and Ecocert as two of its five founding members, COSMOS is the result of a newly emerged and unified standard. The landscape of natural skincare is ever-evolving, and COSMOS understands that as therapeutic experiences change, so will the challenge of preserving the natural integrity of products. Brands who display their stamp represent market-leading, natural products.
COSMOS certifications regulate origins and processing of ingredients and the composition of the final product. They also regulate the entire manufacturing process, including the storage-of and labelling of products. COSMOS also regulate the environmental impact and management, as well as ongoing inspection and control of the brands that seek its certification.
Ecocert is one of the most prestigious certifiers of organic and natural cosmetics in the world. Founded in France, Ecocert has a strong focus in sustainability and Earth-friendly practices. Any brand that carries the Ecocert stamp conducts their entire business with the environment as one of their primary concerns, to ensure a wholly sustainable practice. Ecocert conducts twice yearly inspections of production lines and tracks the entire production process. To obtain Ecocert certification, pesticides and fertilisers are forbidden, plant seeds must not be genetically modified, and storage and manufacturing processes must be eco-friendly.
