Glycolic acid is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid, and is the smallest of the AHA group of molecules. This means that glycolic acid penetrates the skin quite easily and is very effective when used therapeutically.
Glycolic acid is an exfoliant, helping to shed dead skin cells to reveal the newer and brighter skin. Glycolic acid is able to penetrate deeply and stimulate collagen production, so that skin feels firmer and the appearance of fine lines is reduced. Skin feels smoother, looks fresher, and is more radiant and evenly toned.
